Gough Engineering Stemming buckets fit on the Quick hitch of an IT38G that is rated at 2.5 Cum and IT62G that is 4 Cum.
Both are designed to handle 26mm aggregate that is used for stemming 200mm waste blast holes.
The floor of the bucket is angled which allows the stemming to run into the bottom of the hopper where there is Dia125mm hole with a slide that opens and shuts.
Two hydraulic hoses from the hopper gate ram connect into the machines hydraulic system allowing the hydraulic gate ram to be operated from the cab of the loader.
The loader driver positions the 125mm hole directly over the blast hole and opens the gate. This allows the stemming material to run out into the blast hole. It is vital the material used through the stemming hopper is clean and has no rocks in it as this will block up the hole in the bottom of the hopper causing the operators a lot of frustration.
We have had an IT62G size Stemming Bucket at Macraes Mine for a number of years, which has saved a lot of manual shovelling.
